Description
Ripe cherry flavours, spicy oak, silky tannins, and a deliciously good story. Central Otago is home to New Zealand’s largest high country sheep stations. The original shepherds who worked these stations have moved on, yet their spirit remains. We celebrate these men with our Central Otago Pinot Noir. The wine is a medium ruby red, exhibiting vibrant dark berry aromas with hints of spice and smoke. The palate is rich and savoury with dark cherry and plum fruit characters with fine supple tannins, hints of pepper and spice and a savoury oak finish. Pair this wine with roast duck served with a plum sauce, or accented with Chinese 5-spice. Mushroom and truffle flavours work well, especially alongside meat or game. Later on try with a milder blue cheese such as Gorgonzola. This wine is drinking well now, and will develop more complexity if carefully cellared for up to three or four years.Tasting Notes
